We celebrate the Homegoing of Arthur Alonzo Morton. He was born to the late Marshall Franklin Morton Sr. and the late Annie Lee Morton.
Arthur was a kind, gentle person who had a big smile and always stopped to talk and make a new friend. Arthur was full of character, humor and spirit. Arthur began his education in Ashland, VA and graduated high school in Baltimore, MD. Arthur was a dedicated employee who worked for Hanover County Recycling for over 20 years and for McDonalds over 10 years.
No matter what day or season, he would always ask, “Do you have any money?”, because he wanted to make sure you were taken care of! He made sure you had plenty batteries or light bulbs and if you didn’t, he would buy them for you! Arthur always loved his conversation with his great-niece Zaniyah (Rug-Rat), in which she would always state, “Listen Uncle Arthur”, before beginning her conversation with him!
He is preceded in death by his brothers Ervin R. Carter (Vivian Carter), Marshall F. Morton (Pamela Griffin)Jr., sister, Geneva Coleman (Alfred Coleman, Sr.)
He is survived by his siblings, Reginald Morton, Mozelle M. Miller (Scotty Miller), Patricia and Leon Morton. A host of nephews, other loving family members and devoted family friends.
Homegoing going service will be held Saturday, June 30, 2018, at 1:00 p.m., at the F. E Dabney Funeral Home Chapel. Elder Marlow Fallie, Officiating. Interment, Private.
